Lake Orion Lions Club's Jubilee Kicks Off Thursday
Lake Orion - The Lake Orion Lions Club will be hosting the Jubilee at Olde World Canterbury Village in Orion Township Thursday, June 21 through Sunday, June 24th. The carnival will be open from 5-10pm on Thursday June 21st, Noon-11pm on Friday and Saturday, June 22nd & 23rd and Noon-6pm on Sunday, June 24th. Money raised from the Jubilee will allow Lions to meet the pressing needs in our community including our Annual Christmas Basket Program, Eyesight and Hearing programs and other community service projects. Wristbands for the Carnival that allow you to ride all the rides all day long are available for $20 at the event or you can pre-purchase them online at www.LakeOrionLions.org for $18. Presales end midnight on June 19th.
There will be a Big Wheel Race on Saturday, June 23rd at 10am in front of the Always Christmas Store for children ages 4-8, winners in each age group will win a Wristband for the carnival and a trophy. Registration forms can be found on our website www.LakeOrionLions.org. Friday and Saturday will feature an Arts & Crafts fair inside the Village are with over 50 vendors. The Clansmann’s Pub will have their Beer Garden open as well.
Volunteers from the Lake Orion High School Lacrosse team and the local Boy Scouts will be helping with parking and will be excepting donations for their organizations.
The Lions Club will be selling beverages down in the carnival area along with Raffle Tickets for a new Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Flares will also be available for purchase from the Lions booth for Flare night which will be Friday, June 29th.
The Lake Orion Lions Club has over 55 members and meets first and third Wednesdays each month at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
