Lake Orion residents with an ear for music are urged to attend the annual Lake Orion High School Spring Band Concert, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday May 22 at the high school auditorium. In conjunction with the concert, a tin-can raffle fundraiser will be conducted in the auditorium lobby starting at 7 p.m. Raffle items include everything from Great Lake Athletic Club memberships to Meadow Brook Theater tickets to local restaurant gift cards. Gift baskets, created by students from each instrumental section of the band, also will be raffled.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Lake Orion Band Boosters, which supports music in all three Lake Orion middle schools and the high school, providing 700 music students with uniforms, instruments and instrument repairs, music, clinicians, transportation and $14,000 in annual scholarships.

The Lake Orion Band Program is one of the top music programs in the state of Michigan, with students selected regularly for local, regional, and state honors ensembles and university honors bands.
