Whether you're an artist who'd like to brush up on your skills or someone who's always wanted to tap into your creativity, the Orion Art Center's classes are a fun way to make new friends and take a break from a hectic world.

Splash into Ink!                

Fridays July 13, 20, 27 and Aug 3rd   3:00-4:00

$45 members     $50 guests

This class will take you step by step through the basics of making an expressive ink drawing. You'll learn techniques that make inking fun from beginning to end. We'll also explore shading techniques like hatching to help develop your drawings dimensionally.

Felting from Scratch Workshop

Saturday, August 4th     10:00 to 3pm

$40.50 members     $45 guests

Learn the basics of wet felting, or expand your knowledge as we create beautiful felt scarves using 100% merino wool roving. Wet felting is the ancient process of rendering wool roving into a flat material. You'll love the artistic possibilities and functionality of felting. We'll explore surface design as we add wool locks, bits of silk, and decorative yarn to our felt. We'll take a half hour lunch break. Please pack a lunch or you can order nearby. Material fee $30. Wonders of Watercolor Workshop

Saturday, June 30th      10:00 AM to 4 PM

$58.50 members    $65 guests

Learn to design and create using the great medium of watercolor! Regardless of your skill level you will learn techniques that will enhance your art with personal style. Learn the variety of ways watercolor can be applied to create the look you want! We'll take a half hour lunch break. Please pack a lunch or you can order nearby.

More than just Drawing 

Wednesdays June 27th, July 11th, 18th, 25th

4:00 to 5:30 pm      $58.50 members    $65 guests  

Art comes to life in its most basic form, drawing. Can't draw a straight line? Good! With Ken Myers you will look at the drawings of the Masters in a fun, inspiring new way and learn how to apply basic yet effective principles to enhance your own drawing techniques and discover the artist in you!

Drawing Expression

Wednesdays August 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd

4:00 to 5:30          $58.50 members    $65 guests

All levels of artists are invited to join this class where you will develop the techniques to express your full artistic value. Creativity of all kinds starts with drawing! Here you will have guidance to find the inner beauty and bring it to paper!
