Rochester Cider Mill v. Oakland Township Court Date Postponed
The court date for the Rochester Cider Mill and the Charter Township of Oakland, who were supposed to meet in court today regarding a 1987 court order, has been pushed back due to a problem with the electronic motion submission, said Dr. Tom Barkham, Jr., whose family owns the cider mill.
The Barkham family is hoping to repeal the non-conforming use order, which limits when and how the cider mill may operate while still allowing it to operate as a business despite the property being zoned for residential use. Dr. Tom Barkham, who was fined $3 for violating the order earlier this year, says his family wants to operate the cider mill as a farm market.
Both parties are now scheduled to appear in Oakland County Circuit Court on May 11 at 8:30am.
