Author Sandra Brown Will Speak in Rochester Hills Next Month

Her newest bestseller, "Lethal," has been chosen as the southeast Michigan "Everyone's Reading" book for 2012.

Bestselling suspense author Sandra Brown will speak in Rochester Hills next month as part of a regional book club program intended to bring southeast Michigan together through reading.

Brown's Lethal has been chosen as the 2012 Everyone's Reading book. Everyone's Reading is sponsored by libraries in Oakland and Wayne counties; this is the 11th year of the program, which is intended to promote dialogue through the shared experience of reading and discussing the same book. Past books have included The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly and Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow.

The Rochester Hills Public Library is one of 13 libraries participating in the program.

Brown will speak at the Rochester Church of Christ at 2 p.m. March 22. She will also speak at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills at 7 p.m. that day. Tickets for both events are free, but because of the expected popular demand, a drawing will be held.

Set in Louisiana, Lethal tells the story of Honor Gillette, who is visited by Lee Coburn, a suspected murderer seeking a valuable object that Honor's late husband left behind. The Rochester Hills library had several copies of the book available as of Thursday morning.

To hear Brown speak

  • You can enter the drawing for tickets beginning Feb. 20 at the Rochester Hills Public Library. You must have a valid library card to enter the drawing.
  • The drawing will be held March 12; each winner will receive two tickets.

  • 10 a.m. March 21 (registration begins Feb. 20).
