Man Approaches Young Boys, Tries to Lure Them into Car
The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.
A man driving a tan vehicle approached three children on the 2000 block of Invitational Drive in Oakland Township on Monday afternoon, attempting to lure them into his car, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office - Oakland Township Substation report.
The man, who was described as being 19-20 years old with an earring and dark, spiky hair, allegedly offered the three young boys a "chocolate bunny to play with him and his friend," according to the report. The 9-year-old boys reportedly backed away from the four door, older model car and the man sped off northbound on Invitational Drive.
One of the boys' mothers contacted the Oakland Township Substation to report the incident, saying the boys had been playing outside a few doors down and that they came running home, clearly upset by the encounter. After talking to the mother, the responding deputies checked the neighborhood for a like vehicle, finding two possibilities. However, the boys didn't ID either vehicle as being the one on the scene, the report stated.
There will be extra patrol in the area deputies continue to investigate the incident, the report stated.
If you have any information about the encounter, please contact the Oakland Township Substation at 248-652-4617.

Well, as you recall an incident last November when the Officer in charge at the substation and undersheriff McCabe immediately jumped in and immediately squelched any criminal charges. anyone would think that this type of activity is ok in Oakland Township. That was the first time that there was an immediate response by two high level officers of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department stating that those 19 year olds were just having fun. Hmm, any relationship between the perpetrators and law enforcement???? Never heard anything public by the County Prosecutor.
