Milosch's Palace Pampers Patrons with Pleasantries
Customers can expect perks like a limousine shuttle service, free popcorn and coffee and an expansive waiting area with an aquarium at Milosch's Palace Chrysler Jeep Dodge.
Cars have been a Milosch family business in Lake Orion for more than 50 years. Don Milosch Sr. started Don's Used Cars in 1963 and then bought a used car lot in 1970 called Milosch's Chrysler Plymouth Dodge.
Mark Milosch, son of Don Milosch Sr., said his father wanted to save cents wherever he could when purchasing the used car lot and had his sons save what resources they could on the property.
"I was in eighth grade and I remember pulling the nails out of the wood because our dad was just that way," he said.
The original used car lot is still in use and is known as Milosch's Pre-owned Superstore, 677 South Lapeer Road in Lake Orion.
Don Milosch Sr. started at the current location, 3800 South Lapeer Road in Lake Orion, when his father, Joseph Milosch, sold the Ford dealership he owned up the road.
"In 1995, we built this store and became a Jeep dealer," said Mark Milosch.
There are three brothers that are the current owners of Milosch's Palace Chrysler Jeep Dodge - Don, Mark and Brian Milosch. Milosch said all three brothers had been working at the dealership their whole lives.
"Our business went from selling 30 cars a month when it was at the older facility to now where we sell new and used combined 275 cars a month," he said.
The dealership, which added Dodge in 2009, employs more than 140 people. Milosch's Palace is also one of the largest wholesale parts departments in lower southeast Michigan, he said.
One of the newest additions to the business is a 61,000 square foot body shop opened in 2011 that is touted for its eco-friendly design.
"We're involved in a lot of community activities," Milosch said.
He said one of the largest is the Christmas fundraiser with the Lake Orion Lions Club where they raised over $40,000 to provide food and gifts to local families.
A foremost objective of the Miloschs' business is to provide customers with a valuable experience.
"Customer satisfaction has become the number one priority in selling and servicing vehicles," he said.
He said selling a car should be a pleasant experience. The Milosch's Palace waiting area is large and equipped with a gift shop, a cafe and an aquarium.
"You walk around our dealership and it is a very comfortable experience," he said.
Customers also have the option of free popcorn or coffee. The dealership will also pick up customers within a 10-mile radius in its own limousine, called Milosch's Courtesy Shuttle.
"We want your buying experience to be a memorable one," Milosch said.
