Clarkston's Pizzeria Dolce Comes to Lake Orion By Popular Demand

The recently opened Broadway location is the second for Pizzeria Dolce, which has another store in Clarkston.

A new pizzeria has opened on Broadway in Lake Orion, and the only thing fresher than Pizzeria Dolce is its ingredients, the owner says.

“We actually use everything fresh. The pineapples, even we use (fresh) prosciutto and gouda cheese,” owner Dan Nestorovski said. “Everything's basically made from scratch.”

This is the second location for Pizzeria Dolce. Nestorovski said owned multiple pizza franchises before opening his own restaurant. “I've been in the pizza business most of my life,” he said.

Nestorovski said he wanted Pizzera Dolce to be aesthetically pleasing and to stand out.

“I think it's just the modern sleek, unique, pizzeria. It's not like your typical pizzeria place,” Nestorovski said. “Unlike some of these pizza places that you walk into, you can actually sit down and enjoy a pizza instead of just getting a box and taking it out.”

For newcomers to the store, Nestorovski suggested the smokehouse pizza which is made with several cheeses—including gouda and ricotta— plus prosciutto, a house sauce and garlic cloves.

Nestorovski decided to expand in Lake Orion after he was contacted by the landlord of the property.

“We had a lot of people coming from Lake Orion (to the Clarkston location),” Nestorovski said. “The landlord contacted me and we got together and made a deal to expand into Lake Orion.”

Overall, said he wanted to stress that Pizzeria Dolce is “family-owned and operated and everything's made from scratch.”
