The Orion Township Public Library is giving kids the chance to celebrate the right to vote with a “Vote for a Book” campaign.

The youth librarians have nominated 15 books in the election. Children can come in on Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 from 2-4 to campaign—make a poster or film a video with ONTV— for their book choice. Posters will be hung throughout the library and videos will be aired on ONTV.

Then, they can vote Nov. 5-6. Children can drop in to vote, or cast their vote on the library website.

"It is our hope that children will learn that their vote and opinion is important, ” said Deb Refior, Youth Services Department Head, in a recent press release.

The Orion Township Public Library is located at 825 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, MI 48362. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, go to www.orionlibrary.org or call 248-693-3002.

I am so excited to have my kids "campaign" for their fave books! I want them to learn the importance of voting as early as possible.
