Police Blotter: Man Steals Laptop on First Date; Syringe Reported in Park

Man steals laptop on first date
A Lake Orion woman living on Orion Road contacted the Lake Orion Police Department on June 10 after discovering her laptop was missing.
According to the report the woman suspects a man, that she met on an online dating site, stole the computer. She invited the man over to her apartment, and while she showered the man left her apartment, allegedly with the laptop. The woman noted that the man called her from a restricted number and that she did not know what car he drove.
Child carrying syringe in Children's Park
After noon on June 12, officers received a report from a citizen that she saw a child carrying a syringe in Children's Park. When officers arrived at the park they were unable to locate anyone with the described syringe.
Lawn furniture stolen from summer cottage
Officers received a report of missing lawn furniture on June 12 from a man who owns a summer cottage on the 700 block of Central Drive. Lawn chairs, which were valued at about $200 a piece, were missing from the back yard porch of the lake house. It is unknown when the items were stolen.
