The fifth-annual Brooksie Way is two weeks away, but you can try out the course for a practice run or walk on Sunday.

The practice race will begin and end at the Meadow Brook Music Festival, where the real race is set to be held on Sept. 30.

It's free to participate in the practice race; the course will be marked but the roads will not be closed, so runners and walkers must stick to the bike paths and sidewalks.

Three water stations will be located along the half-marathon course and at the finish.

The event begins at 8 a.m. The course goes through Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.

Last year, about 350 people participated in the practice race.
