Quilt Celebration Draws Large Crowd to See Beautiful Designs

Hundreds of colorful quilts were on display at this Oakland County Quilt Guild event.

On Friday and Saturday the Oakland County Quilt Guild hosted its primary fundraiser, its 2012 Quilt Celebration.

More than 200 quilts were on display at the event, which was held at the of Lake Orion. Both guild members and members of the public submitted their quilts to be showcased at the event. Mary Asmus of Oakland Township and Carol Reimann of Rochester Hills were a couple of local women who had quilts on display at the celebration.

Quilts were judged by a representative of the National Quilting Association and ribbons were handed out in various categories. Both Asmus and Reimann received ribbons for their designs.
