Seasonings is Back in Business
The cafe was closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to a power outage.
Because the power was out for an unknown period of time last weekend, Brinson said she had to throw out all of her fresh food items. Brinson suspects the power outage was an act of vandalism, with someone purposely tripping the circuit breaker of the small strip mall on Collins Road. Brinson noted the other businesses were not impacted by the outage.
"Because everything is homemade we had to start again from scratch," she said.
Tuesday through Thursday, Brinson worked around the clock to stock the food again to serve customers Friday and Saturday. To notify customers about the closure, Brinson put a note on the door stating the restaurant would reopen when it could have "healthy, beautiful food" again.
Although there was a lot of work to be done, Brinson noted Seasonings came back full steam and customers seemed to be understanding about the predicament.
"It was really important to reopen and continue the continuity of our business," she said.
Seasonings will be open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and serving corned beef hash as its special.
