Storm Leaves Thousands Without Power in Oakland Township, Lake Orion Area
After a stormy Tuesday, DTE reported that thousands of customers in Oakland Township and Lake Orion were without power. Many still were without power early Wednesday.
A powerful thunderstorm knocked out power to at least 1,600 customers in Oakland Township and Lake Orion areas Tuesday evening.
UPDATE: Early Wednesday, many were still without power, and according to DTE, there was no estimate on when power would be restored for those customers still without power after midnight.
Nearby in Rochester and Rochester Hills, about 3,700 people were without power Tuesday.

If you have friends or family in the area without electricity, make sure they have enough water. The downside of living in the rural areas, no power means no power to run the pump for the well. A real problem in this heat.
