Weekend Countdown: Oktoberfest
What's going on this weekend? Patch is going to let you know.
There is a lot to do this weekend around Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township. Because we know that sometimes making planning decisions can get overwhelming, we are here to help.
On Monday, we told you about Paddlepalooza.
Our pick for today: Oktoberfest
- Where/When: Rochester Mills Beer Company. The festivities kick off on Thursday night from 6-10 p.m. and continue Friday 5-11 p.m. and Saturday 1-11 p.m.
- Cost: Admission is $5 per person, free for those 16 and under with an adult.
- Why go: The mayors of Rochester and Rochester Hills will kick off the festivites on Thursday night with a ceremonial tapping of the Oktoberfest Lager inside the brewery at 7 p.m. Entertainment for the evening will include the School of Rock and the JC's Drum Center. Saturday and Sunday is more family-oriented with inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides and games with prizes. For those of us over the age of 21, there will be live "traditional" entertainment, good food and German-style lager beer. The entrance fee will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the YMCA North Oakland County Waves Swim Club.
