Weekend Weather: Light Snow Accumulation

Snow showers are forecast for Friday with cloudy weather following Saturday.

 

It looks like the temperature is going to be just right this weekend for the King's Court Castle Annual Ice Festival in Canterbury Village in Lake Orion.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will fall Friday and temperatures will hover in the 20s throughout the weekend. Here is a look at the day-by-day forecast:

Friday: Starting at 1 p.m. snow is expected to fall, with gusts of wind as high as 23 mph. The chance of precipitation throughout the day on Friday is 90 percent, with new snow accumulation of one to two inches possible. Snow is forecasted to fall up until around 1 a.m. with winds increasing to as high as 28 mph. at night. The high for the day will be near 36 degrees, with a low around 13 degrees at night. Wind chill values are forecasted to be as low as negative 5 come evening.

Saturday: Clouds will highlight Saturday, with northwest wind between 15 and 18 mph. Gusts of wind could get as high as 24 mph. A high of 21 degrees is expected with a low near 15 degrees.

Sunday: During the day the National Weather Service's forecast shows partly sunny skies during the day and partly cloudy during the evening. There is a high of 27 degrees forecasted with a low near 18 degrees.
