What's Going on This Week? Business Expo, Escape School Program and More

Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion this week.

 

There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:

  1. Meetings:
  2. iOrion Community Business Expo: More than 80 businesses (including Patch!) will be at Lake Orion High School Field House from 4-8 p.m. Thursday to participate in the 8th Annual Orion Area Chamber of Commerce Community Business Expo. Businesses at the event will be passing out samples, restaurants will be distributing free food and promotional materials will be available. Entrance to the expo is free.
  3. Forks Over Knives Movie Viewing and Discussion: Attendees of this free Orion Township Public Library event will watch the documentary Forks Over Knives which highlights the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Cardiovascular nurse practitioner Debby Goodall will be onsite to further discuss the benefits and answer questions. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
  4. Escape School Program: Rochester Community Schools will be hosting an Escape School Program at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school district's administration building. The program is appropriate for first through fifth graders and their parents. It outlines abduction prevention and life-saving tips. For more information click here
