What's Going on This Week? Bike Racing, Gazebo Concert, Parks Meetings and More

Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion this week.

 

There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:

  1. Meetings: 
    • Monday: The Lake Orion Village Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall.  The Orion Township Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. in Orion Township Hall.
    • Tuesday: There is a Village of Lake Orion Parks and Recreation Commission meeting at 7 p.m. at Green's Park.
    • Wednesday: An Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Paint Creek Cider Mill building.  Here's the agenda.
    • Thursday: The Orion Township Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meets at 6 p.m. in Orion Township Hall.
  2. "Paisley Fogg" performs in Gazebo Concert Series: A 60s British and American pop band, "Paisley Fogg," will perform in the Gazebo Concert Series in Children's Park.  The concert is hosted by the Lake Orion DDA on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  3. Lake Orion Farmers Market: The Lake Orion Farmers Market will be stocked with fresh produce, chicken, bread, sweets and more on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The market is held between the Orion Art Center and Children's Park.  
  4. Bike racing at the Velodrome: See Olympic-style bike racing in action at the Velodrome inside Bloomer Park. Tickets are $5 for adults; kids are free with a paid adult admission. Tickets are for sale one hour before the race starts at 7"30 p.m. A $5 per vehicle entry fee is required to enter Bloomer Park.
