Henry Ford board of trustees' decision Tuesday followed six months of due diligence discussions involving hundreds of Beaumont and Henry Ford team members, according to Beaumont. “We have benefited greatly from our merger discussions and have great respect for our colleagues at Henry Ford,” said Gene Michalski, president and CEO, Beaumont Health System. “However, we found through our discussions that we are not aligned on how to achieve our vision for a model health system due to differences in our structures and business models.” In a letter to employees, Henry Ford CEO Nancy Schlichting wrote the …

Would love to have been the fly on the wall, I suspect Beaumont turned out a little too top heavy in liabilities, eg only a C+ in patient safety in Royal Oak, Troy has a B. I have personal reasons not to go back to Beaumont for any emergency. They do have excellent doctors and quite a few great nurses (if you can get a hold of one). Beaumont is a prime example of what happens when accountants …   more ›

I am crazy about the selection of scrumptious pita roll ups featured at La Feast for only $3.99.
