"Michigan's Civil War Sacrifices" program by Jack Dempsey
and cemetery walk to see some of their burial sites at the
Paint Creek Cemetery in Oakland Township on Orion Road.
Located just north of Lake George Road on the east side
of Orion Road. In the event of a hard rain the program will
be moved to Cranberry Lake Farm, 388 W. Predmore Rd., in
Oakland Township. Please bring a folding chair. Cider and
donuts will be served.

Formerly known as the Paint Creek Burial Ground, the Paint Creek Cemetery was founded more than 160 years ago. Though the peaceful cemetery is small, it has many large trees that tower over the grave stones. There are 463 recorded individuals buried in this cemetery.
