Winter is finally over and it is time to hit the roads of Oakland Township and pick up the litter that the snow had hidden.  Each year dedicated volunteers work together to keep our township looking great.  This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 3rd.  Participants gather at 9:00 am at the Township Hall for sign in, pick up and refreshments.  Volunteers choose the roads they intend to clean before hand or are assigned a road on Clean Scene Day.  After checking in, volunteers head to their morning’s trash collection.  Volunteers with pick-up trucks are needed to patrol the township, collect the filled bags and bring them back to the compactor truck at Township Hall.  When all the litter is in the bag, volunteers gather back at the hall for lunch and camaraderie.

Please wear hard soled shoes, work gloves and clothes appropriate to the weather conditions.  Each volunteer will receive a bright safety vest to wear over their own clothing.-

Get involved, gather your friends, groups and co-workers to improve the appearance of township roads and get to know your neighbors.
