Local Communities Invited To 15th Annual Taste of Clarkston Event

Clarkston hosts its 15th annual Taste of Clarkston event at noon Sept. 23 from12-6 p.m. which features more than 30 local restaurants, free family-friendly entertainment and 50 exhibitors.

Co-hosted by the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce, Independence Township, and City of the Village of Clarkston there are several new additions to this year’s restaurant lineup including Joe’s Crab Shack, Lik Gelato Bar, Mesquite Creek, River Rock Bar & Grill and Wendy’s.

Returning restaurants include: Brioni’s Café, Buckshots Bar & Grill, Bullfrogs Bar & Grill, Clarkston Union, Costco, Culligan, Culvers, Deer Lake Athletic Club, Essence on Main, Fountains Golf & Banquet, Gregg’s Gourmet Café, Hamlin Pub, MacPhee’s Restaurant and Pub, Mr. B’s Roadhouse, Oakhurst Golf & Country Club, O’Malley’s Galley, Paint Creek Country Club, Papa Romano’s, Pete’s Coney II, Pizzeria Dolce, Rainforest Café, Rudy’s Gourmet Market and Catering, Stir Crazy, Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar and Grill, Tropical Smoothie Café, Union Woodshop and Via Bologna.

Food tickets for the participating restaurants will be available for purchase at the event.


Along with great eats Clarkston will be alive with music. The center stage will be the main attraction with music on Church Street. Entertainment sponsored by LaFontaine Automotive Group and Genisys Credit Union will include TJ Craven, The Locals, Solid Rockers and Toppermost (a Beatles Tribute Band).

The Rotary Beer and Wine Tent, Clarkston Union Oktoberfest Beer Tent and pop-up entertainment will be at the event for adult drinks and entertainment.


The Radio Disney 910 Road Crew will be keeping the kids busy in the Washington Street parking lot and providing live entertainment and children’s activities. Additional KidZone activities in Depot Park include a bounce houses and carnival games.

After Taste of Clarkston, guests are invited to attend a benefit concert with Alexander Zonjic starting at 6 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church. There is no charge for admission, but donations for Habitat for Humanity will be accepted during the event.

Taste of Clarkston is from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 on Main Street in the center of the village of Clarkston. There is no cover charge, and parking at the event is free, as well as shuttle bus service from area school lots. Take exit 91 off I-75, head south on Main Street and follow the detour signs to Clarkston High School.

Or take Exit 89 (Sashabaw Rd.), head South to Waldon Rd., turn right and follow the signs to park at Clarkston Elementary, Junior High School or Renaissance High School.
