Bike Fix-It Station a New Enhancement of Paint Creek Trail

Have you seen the new tool station at the Paint Creek Cider Mill?

A new fix-it station along the Paint Creek Trail will allow bikers to inflate their tires and make other adjustments to their bikes.

It's the trail's first gift from the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail, a nonprofit group dedicated to promoting the use, maintenance and improvements of the Paint Creek Trail.

The Friends group was inspired to purchase and install the station after seeing similar stations at Rochester Municipal Park and also along the Clinton River Trail.

Those stations were donated by local resident and cycling enthusiast Ryan Katulic.

“We are so fortunate to have great trails, pathways, and cycling opportunities in the area," said Trail Manager Kristen Myers. "Ryan Katulic and the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail are examples of the great support we have in the community for world class cycling facilities.”

Taste wine, raise funds

To continue to raise money for trail improvements, the Friends will host a Wine Tasting Event Fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Fieldstone Winery in downtown Rochester. Guests will receive eight samples of wine, assorted hors d’oeuvres and tickets for a Chinese auction. Tickets are $20 presale or $25 at the door.

A Paint Creek Trail Red and Paint Creek Trail Pomegranate Zinfandel will be served.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.paintcreektrailfriends.org, or by calling (248) 651-9260.
