Oakland University Jazz Band is scheduled to perform at the Detroit Jazz Festival at 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sept. 1 on the Mack Avenue Waterfront Stage, according to the college's website.
Student musicians will join jazz faculty under the direction of Assistant Professor Miles Brown.
"OU Big Band is excited to perform at the Detroit Jazz Festival," according to Brown. "It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform at such a high-profile jazz festival."
