Despite a rainy, cold September night, about 100 people attended the of "" at the earlier this evening. Presented by the Oakland Township Historical Society, the exhibit is sponsored by of Goodison and Libby Dwyer of Studio 1234 of Oakland Township who provided the graphic design for the exhibit posters and displays.

The opening night program began with the sounds of Goodison from the days of yore — the clip-clopping of horse hooves, wagon wheels rolling along, the whistle of a locomotive and the clang of a blacksmith's hammer.

County commissioner Tim Greimel served as the emcee and guest speakers included Township Supervisor Joan Fogler, Goodison exhibit co-chairs  Janine Saputo and Colleen Barkham, and local author and downtown Rochester pharmacist Bob Lytle. Lytle premiered a new poem he penned in honor of Goodison titled "Life is Good in Goodison, Michigan I Ay."
