Six last-minute Christmas gift ideas for that special someone in your life.

Sometimes it’s hard to trim the tree, adorn the house with lights, go to work, run errands and get all the holiday shopping done in time for Christmas.

That’s why Patch compiled a list of last-minute gift ideas for shoppers who feel like Christmas snuck up on them this year and are running out of time thinking of a present and going out and purchasing it.

  1. Magazine subscriptions: Magazines are a great gift because they cover a broad range of topics and are available in a variety of prices. There are magazines focused on health, photography, crafts, history, business, sports, celebrity gossip and much more. Most subscriptions don’t start mailing until four to eight weeks after they are purchased; however and are two local stores that have magazine stands and might have a copy of the magazine you select.   2. Netflix subscriptions: If you have a movie lover or TV addict in your life, a Netflix subscription might be the perfect gift. Netflix allows you to stream numerous videos and TV seasons onto your TV via a range of technology devices. Netflix can also be streamed to your computer, and mail-in DVD options are available. Plus, signing up for a subscription is easy, just visit its website at www.netflix.com. Subscriptions start at $7.99 per month, and gift certificates can be purchased through one year.
  3. Photo frame: Giving a photo to a loved one is always a good idea. If you come across a favorite picture or one he or she hasn't seen in awhile, buy a frame for it – perhaps at – and wrap it up for Christmas. If you need a digital photo developed, CVS Pharmacy offers quick photo printing.
  4. Pre-made baskets: Area grocery stores, such as Kroger, offer pre-made baskets with a variety of goodies around this time of year that are easy to pick up.
  5. Wine: A bottle of wine is a good, quick gift choice – great to bring to a holiday party as a hostess gift, too. The nice thing about wine is there is a range in price points, and the bottles are easy to wrap – just grab a gift bag while you are at it. If you know what kind of wine the recipient likes, find something similar that they haven’t tried before. Ask the store owner or wine expert for advice.
  6. Tickets: Whether your loved one likes concerts, musicals or sporting events, there is bound to be an event he or she would like to attend this coming year. Browse Ticketmaster to see if there are any favorite bands, plays or teams playing at , The Palace of Auburn Hills or another local venue in the coming months. Make sure to purchase more than one ticket though – no one likes to go solo.
