5 Things to Know This Halloween in Oakland Township

From today's forecast to trick-or-treat hours and more, here's what you need to know today.

Halloween is finally here, but before you head out trick-or-treating tonight, here are five things you need to know:

  1. Expect rain today, cool temps tonight: There's a 60 percent chance of rain – including a chance of thunderstorms – through dinner time today, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac. Temperatures will be in the mid-40s when trick-or-treating begins.
  2. What time to go trick-or-treating: In Oakland Township and Rochester Hills, today are from 6-8 p.m. In Rochester, the hours are from 7-8 p.m.
  3. Be safe this Halloween: State Fire Marshal Ronald R. Farr is reminding families of the increased risk of burn injuries and other hidden dangers on Halloween. To help keep you and your family safe today and tonight, check out .
