5 Things to Know This Week

Here's what's happening in Oakland Township this week.

  1. Two meetings this week. The Board is meeting at Cranberry Lake Farm tonight at 7 p.m. The Historic District Commission is holding a special meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the  Conference Room (see attached agenda).
  2. The is giving away a free book to children ages 3-18 this Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
  3. It's still cool... but not as cold as last week. There's a chance of snow Wednesday, but daytime highs are likely staying above freezing this week. It should warm up to about 50 degrees (the normal daytime high for this time of year) by Sunday.
  4. Watch out for potholes. We all know Oakland Township , and there's also a on Predmore Road, so be careful out there. To learn why potholes on gravel roads are such a big problem in the spring, check out the Road Commission for Oakland County's video blog.
  5. It's Spring Break! Rochester, Romeo and Lake Orion community schools are all on break starting this Friday. Classes resume Monday, April 11.
