5 Things to Know This Week

Here's what's happening in Oakland Township this week.

  1. It's spring break in Oakland Township. Rochester, Lake Orion and Romeo community schools are all on spring break this week; classes resume April 11. To find out what some of the seniors at are doing with their week off, check out Lucie Fornasiero's most recent .
  2. Construction, construction, construction. M-59 between Crooks Road and Opdyke Road will go from three lanes for median shoulder repair and widening starting Tuesday. Resurfacing of Walton Boulevard east of Adams Road to Great Oaks Boulevard is set to begin April 18; construction on Crooks Road at M-59 will continue.
  3. Wet, warmer weather is here. For the first time in a long time, snow is not in the forecast this week! In fact, the weather this week will include possible thunderstorms today, rain Wednesday and more thunderstorms on Friday. Today's high temperature could reach 60 degrees, and Friday's high temperature could be as high as 63 degrees.

  5. "Ding Dong" playing at Meadow Brook. presents Ding Dong, a hysterical new comedy that features two couples, an affair, a Russian call girl and a put-upon maid.
