Cooking With Ethan: Making Breaded Fried Fish Fillets

Recipes so easy, even a 5-year-old can do it.

Ethan Williams is 5, and he loves to cook.

He's already shown readers how to make and , and now he's tackling fried fish.

Empty a package of saltines into a 1-gallon plastic bag. Add a few shakes (approximately 1/2 tsp) of black pepper, salt and lemon pepper to the bag. Push out as much air as possible, seal and smash the crackers into crumbs. You can do this like Ethan and smash it with your bare hands, or you could use a rolling pin.

Next, pour about a half a cup of olive oil into a bowl and coat your fish fillet. Let excess oil drop off the fillet, then add them to the plastic bag, this time leaving a little bit of air in the bag before sealing it. Gently coat the fillets with the cracker crumbs until covered.

This next part is for "grownups," Ethan says.

In a medium saucepan, heat up 2 tablespoons of olive oil on medium-high heat. Once hot, add the two fillets (and watch out for spattering). Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until the fish is flaky and golden brown.

It's that easy. Even the fish-stick-loving Ethan admitted to loving it. In fact, he ate an entire fillet by himself.
