Flooding Likely as Persistent Rain Soaks Oakland County

Wet conditions and leaf litter may cause flooding Wednesday and Thursday, says weather service.

Soaking rain Wednesday evening into Thursday will likely cause localized flooding throughout the area, warns the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.

Breezy conditions and falling leaves will only aggravate the situation, as the leaves could clog drainage systems and lead to flooded streets.

Heavy rain overnight and into Thursday will also bring the threat of small stream flooding; rain will continue through most of the day on Thursday.
