Viewfinder: Blessings in a Backpack Fundraiser

Regardless of the heat today, dozens of families turned out to enjoy hot dogs, play games and meet a variety of Star Wars characters at the . 

The fundraiser was hosted at and . Proceeds go to Blessings in a Backpack, a program that supports children who need aid with meals on the weekends and during the summer.

Many attendees Sunday came for the cause, while others noted that their children adore Star Wars. 

Michelle DeClercq, owner of Nice Day Cafe, was pleased with the number of people who showed up for the fundraiser. This is one of many good causes her cafe will be raising money for, she said. 

"We had a better turnout than I expected," DeClerq said.
