Week in Review: Painted Lady Closes, Residents Celebrate Memorial Day

Here's what happened in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion last week.

A lot happened last week and we want to make sure you didn't miss a thing, so here are some of the highlights:

  • : Plans call for a path connecting where the trail currently ends at Atwater Street to downtown Lake Orion.
  • : Owner Debby Enright said closing her store was 'bitter sweet'.
  • Highlights this week from the Orion Township Substation:
  • : The soon-to-be vacant Orion Township Trustee position is expected to be filled Monday.
  • : A state representative is proposing that K2 — a synthetic form of marijuana known as Spice — be banned in the state.
  • : Students tested chemical levels and studied the land use on their field trip.
  • : Almost 150 Stadium Drive Elementary School students participated in the performance.
  • : Hundreds of people came together Monday for the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Orion Veterans Memorial.
  • : The American Legion, Lake Orion High School Marching Band, public safety officials and more participated in the parade.
