Week in Review: Painted Lady Closes, Residents Celebrate Memorial Day
Here's what happened in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion last week.
A lot happened last week and we want to make sure you didn't miss a thing, so here are some of the highlights:
- : Plans call for a path connecting where the trail currently ends at Atwater Street to downtown Lake Orion.

- : The soon-to-be vacant Orion Township Trustee position is expected to be filled Monday.
- : A state representative is proposing that K2 — a synthetic form of marijuana known as Spice — be banned in the state.
- : Students tested chemical levels and studied the land use on their field trip.
- : Almost 150 Stadium Drive Elementary School students participated in the performance.
- : Hundreds of people came together Monday for the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Orion Veterans Memorial.
- : The American Legion, Lake Orion High School Marching Band, public safety officials and more participated in the parade.
