Weekend Planner: Paint Creek Crawl, Hometown Hustle and More

There's plenty to do this weekend; here's a quick guide.

The weekend is almost here and there's lots to do around Oakland Township and Lake Orion.

Here are a few fun events to participate in this weekend:

It's the second year for this bike local, shop local event. It starts at 9 a.m. at the Paint Creek Cider Mill and involves a bike ride to Lake Orion and back along the trail. Registration is $30. There are prizes and activities along the way.

The annual fundraiser for is a run/walk around Rochester. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. at the school administration building on University Drive. Though pre-registration is closed, you can register on site. Cost is $15 for students and $25 for adults (or $60 for a family). According to event coordinators, more than 800 have registered for the event so far.

The Hair Inn of Orion is hosting a Cut-A-Thon on Saturday to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. the public can drop in for a $10 hair cut with all proceeds going to the Relay for Life. O'Haver's Flavors will be providing food for the event.

Have you seen the World War II exhibit at the ? The exhibit culminates in a daylong symposium on Saturday, with re-enactments, lectures and other activities. Cost is $6 adults and $3 seniors and students.
