What's Going On This Week? Candidate Interviews, Flower Fair and More
Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion this week.
There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:
- Meetings:
- Tuesday: At 7:30 p.m. there is a Lake Orion Village Council meeting at
- Wednesday: The Orion Township Board of Trustees will be holding a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at . Trustees will interview interested candidates in hopes of filling a .
- : Attendees of this free event will learn about the health benefits of a plant-based diet from Debby Goodall, cardiovascular nurse practitioner. Goodall will also present attendees with recipes to try and cooking demonstrations. The program begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
- NO HAZ collection: From 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, residents from Orion and Oakland Township can drop off their hazardous waste materials at Oakland University's NO HAZ collection event. - Flower Fair: If you like gardening, landscaping and flowers, downtown Lake Orion is the place to be this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday numerous vendors will be on-site distributing samples of their products and educating attendees about the services they offer.
- Recycling: Oakland Township residents can drop off their recyclables for free at on Saturday. A staffed compactor truck will be on-site from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
