What's Going on This Week? Two Book Sales, Art Center Crafts and More

Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township and Lake Orion this week.

There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:

  1. Meetings:
    • Monday: At 7:30 p.m. there is a Lake Orion Village Council meeting at
    • Wednesday: An Orion Township Planning Commission meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at . 
  2. Used Book Sale: Starting Tuesday night the Orion Township Public Library will be hosting its Used Book Sale. From 5-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday Friends of the Orion Township Library can peruse the books at the sale, which opens to the public at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Public hours for the sale are 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday; 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
  3. Used Book Sale: About 30,000 gently-used books will be for sale at this Used Book Sale which kicks off Wednesday. Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library can purchase book from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday and the sale will open to the public on Thursday at 10 a.m. Public hours for the sale will continue from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Saturday books will be half-price and Sunday is $5 bag day.
  4. Crafting at Orion Art Center: From 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday and noon-3 p.m. on Saturday kids can stop into the to make their own recycled treasures. Recyclables will be available for kids to use and they can get ideas from the currently on display at the Orion Art Center.
