epiphany glass ornaments to benefit Haven

The joy of purchasing a hand-crafted piece of art can only be topped when doing so can help others. Epiphany studio and HAVEN of Oakland County announce a special holiday ornament promotion in support of the organization’s mission to prevent and treat victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Additionally, the studio will host a kick-off sales event Thursday, Nov. 1 with free glass-blowing demonstrations.

Epiphany studio will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from its blown-glass ornament gift packages to HAVEN. The holiday ornaments, individually handcrafted in epiphany’s Pontiac glass studio, are specially packaged in a set of three for $105 and are available now through December 2012.

Orders for the HAVEN ornament gift package can be placed by calling studio director Mary Griffin at 248-745-3786. Ornaments are individually hand blown, so color and design will vary.

The gift packs will be available beginning Nov. 1 at the kick-off from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at epiphany studio, 770 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac.

That evening glass artist/owner April Wagner and her team of artisans will be hosting free glass-blowing demonstrations. The HAVEN ornament gift packages will be available for purchase, as well as many other gift items from the StudioE line by epiphany.

“We are proud to partner with HAVEN to raise awareness of the critical role they play in our community,” said Wagner, owner/artist of epiphany studio. “The prevention and treatment of domestic violence and sexual assault deserves our support. We look forward to donating a portion of our proceeds this holiday season to help HAVEN reach out to those who need them most.”

Promotions like this are examples of how local small businesses are stepping up to bridge the funding gaps experienced by non-profit organizations across metro-Detroit from diminished corporate giving and government funding. These local partnerships and promotions sustain critical programs needed by the community.

Last year HAVEN’s third-party events and small business partnerships generated nearly $90,000 for the nonprofit. Some events include multiple parties such as when HAVEN was hosted by photographer Monte Nagler at an event at Scavolini by Cucina Moda earlier this month.
