Wine Cheese and Dixieland

The North Oakland Dixieland Band will be playing for a "Wine and Cheese" Party at Christ the Redeemer Church" on Saturday, November 10th at 6:15 PM.  This 9 piece band specializes in playing early American jazz from the early 1900's through 1940.  The band plays many tunes from early New Orleans and Chicago featuring both instrumental as well as vocal favorites.  The band will be featuring many selections from Louis Armstrong, The Original Dixieland Jass Band, The Dukes of Dixie and many other early American artists.  The band features a 5 piece rhythm section and a traditional 4 horn front line. The band has performed for several local events including the Dragon Festival, and the Orion Township summer concert series and many private events.  In addition, the band has performed for the Greater Detroit Jazz Society and has been asked to return in 2013.  The Wine and Cheese party is free and open to the public, however donations are accepted to benefit the North Oakland Concert Band.  The Concert band provides free concerts to the community throughout the year.  Christ the Redeemer Church is located at 2700 Waldon Road, Lake Orion.
