Boy Scout Gives Facelift to Trail Near Orion Library for Eagle Project

Boy Scout Wes McBride completed one of his final steps to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank of Boy Scouts of America, with a community project at the Orion Township Public Library.

On June 29, McBride and his troop beautified the trail leading from the library to the Polly Anne Trail.

The team of 22 worked for more than seven hours raking, digging and spreading six tons of asphalt millings provided by Environmental Wood Solutions.

The volunteers also created a directional sign to more clearly mark the entrance to the path.

“I thought this was a perfect community service project towards becoming an Eagle Scout,” said McBride.  “This path is something all library patrons can enjoy.”
