Need to Know: Weekend Weather Forecast, Mall Hours Extended

The roads should be mostly clear for holiday shoppers this weekend.

Both sun and snow are prominent in the National Weather Service's weather forecast this weekend.

Friday is expected to start out mosty sunny with a high near 35 degrees. Winds are expected to be mild, between 5 and 14 mph, but could reach as high as 21 mph. It's expected to be cloudy in the evening, with temperatures dipping to 24 degrees and wind calming.

On Saturday there is a 20 percent chance of snow showers forecasted during the day and 30 percent chance at night. The high for the day is expected to be near 32 degrees, with a low of 27. Gusts of wind could reach as high as 18 mph.

Sunny skies will return Sunday, according to the forecast, with a high near 37 degrees during the day and a low around 28 degrees.

Shopping center hours

It's the last big week of shopping before Christmas, and local shopping centers have extended their hours. Below are shopping center hours for this weekend and beyond:

Great Lakes Crossing Outlets

Friday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Sunday:10 a.m.-9 p.m.

The mall will also have extended hours Dec. 19-23, with hours from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Great Lakes Crossing will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed for Christmas day.

Friday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.

Sunday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The shopping center will also extend its hours Dec. 19-23, with hours from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Christmas Eve will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Christmas it will be closed.
