Burning Permits Free and On-Line in Oakland Township Now


At the December 10, Board of Trustees meeting, Township Supervisor Terry Gonser announced that residents no longer must make a trip to the township hall for a burning permit. Instead, they may simply be printed off on-line and signed by the resident. There is no longer a charge.  Here is the link:

I found the picture you selected for this quite interesting. Hopefully, that picture isn't going to be representative of what will happen now that it is so easy for anyone with some flammables and a match to set a fire in and around our neighborhoods and open land spaces. I wonder if the new fire chief was on board with this? Has anyone asked that?
