Debbie Bloomgren took this shot of the sunrise over Lake Orion, and won our weekly contest!
Debbie won a gift certificate for two weeks of boot camp at in Rochester Hills, valued a $100.
Debbie says this of her photo: "That is one of my favorite photos. It was taken last fall. My husband had gotten me a new camera for my birthday to take pictures of our grandchildren. I happened to be up early having my coffee and was in awe of the beauty of the sunrise appearing before me. I thought I should try taking a picture and playing with some of the settings on my new camera. This was one of many stunning shots from that morning. I feel very blessed to have this view from my kitchen window every morning!"
Our judges liked the sunrise over the lake shot for its quiet beauty, and it captures a moment we in Michigan are fortunate to see all the time. Around here, no one is ever far from a sunset or sunrise over a lake (although not all of us are as lucky as Debbie to get to wake up to it).
From our pool of weekly winners, we'll draw for the the grand prize. The drawing is taking place Thursday afternoon and we'll announe the winner at 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
The winner will receive a certificate for a two-night stay at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island (to be used before Oct. 31, 2013, and blackout dates and other restrictions may apply). The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $600.
