Orion Township Treasurer is a Law Breaker.

The Orion Township Meeting on March 3, 2014 brought first term Orion Township Treasurer Mark Thurber to Tasks for breaking the Law as to his daily Office attendance, his failure to publish the Required Treasurers Reports and his Lying to Board Members and Citizens, as well as a County Judge.  If you want to read about it look at the March 5th., 2014 articles in The Oakland Press and Orion Review.

A prime example, after his being sworn in as  OrionTownship Treasurer, for over two months he continued to work full time for his "Previous" employer.  And less than part-time for the Township, while collecting full pay from  his "Previous" employer and paying himself full time as Orion Township Treasurer.  Double dipping and stealing from Orion Township.

Another example is, last Friday, February, 28, 2014 which was the last day of the year to pay property taxes without having to pay a fine.  The Township Hall has always been packed by Citizens paying their property tax on this day.  Treasurer Thurber choose not to be in his Office on this very important date.

Days after he was sworn in as Treasurer (2011), I was present when he lied to the Judge (under Oath) at the Oakland County Assessor's Office when he was submitting his request to rid his property of lake side property taxes.

He was pushed very hard by those who are friends of the Passed Township Supervisor (now working for L. Brooks Paterson) Matt Gibbs.  Gibbs disliked ex-Treasurer Alice Young who lost by only 401 votes.  Disliked, because Penny Pincher Ms. Young fought against Big Spender Gibbs when he was overboard in his spending, which records now prove.  Young was a/is a CPA and Thurber had no credientials to be a Township Treasure.  Gibbs pulled out all stops to defeat Ms. Young.

Thurber was asked by the Board Members to Resign.  He said no.  If he does not we will have to have a recall vote in during the Primiaries.  We are awaiting AG Bill Schuette and SOS Ruth Jonhson decision if they can have him arrested and taken out of his job, and how the Board Members (Clerk, Supervisor. and one Trustee) are involved in the Breaking of the Law.
