Township Ambulance Hits Deer During Emergency Call; Lawn Equipment Stolen from Township Trailer

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

Roughly $1,300 worth of lawn equipment was recently stolen from an Oakland Township Parks and Recreation trailer, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report.

The items, which include a chainsaw and trimmer, were locked inside the enclosed trailer, which was parked on West Buell Road when the theft occurred some time between Oct. 1 and Oct. 11. A witness stated that the trailer was parked behind a pole barn when she discovered the lock and lawn equipment missing last Tuesday.

Truck window smashed, items stolen during Tigers game

An Oakland Township resident filed a report at the Oakland Township Substation after her 2011 Dodge Ram truck was broken into on Wednesday in Detroit while she was at a Tigers game, according to a sheriff's office report.

The resident had parked her truck near Cass Avenue and Elizabeth Street. When she returned from the game, she discovered someone had broken out the rear passenger side window of the vehicle to gain entry.

The thieves rummaged through the vehicle and stole "quite a few items," according to the report. The report was completed for insurance purposes; there are no suspects.

Township ambulance hits deer while responding to emergency

An Oakland Township Fire Department ambulance was responding to a call just before 3 a.m. Wednesday when it struck a deer, according to a traffic crash report.

The incident occurred while the ambulance was traveling straight on Adams Road, just north of Orion Road.
