Police Blotter: $5,000 Fur Coat Missing After Garage Sale

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

Fur coat missing from closet

After holding a garage sale last August, a resident on Shannon Drive in Oakland Township discovered her $5,000 coyote coat with fox fur collar missing from her basement closet, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report.

During the three-day garage sale last August, the woman's "garage and basement doors were unlocked, as there were items in both areas for sale." The woman noticed the coat missing a month later.

The woman filed a police report Monday afternoon after learning her insurance would cover the coat's theft.
