Injured deer put down

The Oakland Township substation was called about an injured deer at the 5000 block of Paint Valley Drive. The homeowner who called showed the deputy the deer laying in his backyard, according to the report. The deputy noted in his report that the deer was unable to walk on its legs and appeared to be injured and/or sick. The deputy shot the deer and the Road Commission for Oakland County was contacted to remove the dead animal.

According to the report, the man noted that he parks two Bobcat-style front-end loaders and leaves them near the 5000 block of Becon Court. The street is vacant for future construction. Along with the loaders, he leaves a snowthrower attachment and blade next to the machines, the report stated. On Jan. 12 he noticed that the snowthrower attachment was missing and that one of the loaders had been used, the report noted.

The man suspected that whoever took  the attachment used the loaders to move the snowthrower attachment onto a pickup device, according to the report.
