Police Blotter: Man Spits in Woman's Face, Property Damaged

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Substation in Oakland Township.

Highlights from reports through the holidays:

Road rage incident near Adams and Silverbell

At about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 22, an assault and battery was reported to the Oakland Township Substation. A woman notified the deputies that while she was driving north on Adams Road at Silverbell Road, a car pulled in front of her off of Silverbell, according to the report. The report states that after a brief road altercation where the vehicle slowed suddenly after turning onto Adams Road, both drivers turned into the parking lot.

According to the report, the woman explained to the man who cut her off what he did wrong, and she said he immediately started cursing loudly and became verbally aggressive. The woman told the man she did not appreciate the language, according to the report, and he then said he didn’t care and allegedly spit in her face. The woman wrote down the license plate number of the vehicle he was driving and contacted the substation to report the assault. According to the report, she advised that she did not want any prosecution but wanted the report to be filed. Deputies tried to follow up with the the other driver and reported that the man became aggravated at being questioned and denied being involved, according to the report.

Vehicle's rim damaged

On Friday, a resident of Buell Road reported to the Oakland Township Substation that his 2011 Lincoln MKX had been damaged. The resident said he first noticed the damage Dec. 26, assessing that the rim to his vehicle had been messed with, he reported. According to the report, the man thought that someone had worked to pry off the chrome cover to the wheel. He said the incident most likely occurred while he and his wife were out shopping that day, the report states.

The deputy noted in the report that there were three obvious pry marks on the rim. One of the pry marks had cracked the wheel cover, according to the report. The report number was given to the resident for his insurance claim.

Lights, trampoline destruction

A woman reported on Dec. 21 that an unknown person entered her property on the 4000 block of Calumet Drive and damaged a trampoline and a string of lights, which were part of a Christmas decoration display, according to the report. The destruction was believed to have occurred Dec. 19, according to the report. A plug on the string of lights was broken, and the support poles on the trampoline were bent, the report said.
