Police Blotter: School Bus Grazes Truck; Pornographic Graffiti Found at Hugger Elementary

School bus sideswipes truck

A Rochester Community Schools bus carrying four students grazed a parked landscaping truck while turning left onto westbound Invitational Drive from Pebble Beach Drive on Monday afternoon, according to a Traffic Crash Report from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The students, ages 11-13, were not injured.

The school bus drove around a landscaping truck parked on the north side of the Invitational Drive, then sideswiped a second landscaping truck parked on the south side of the road with the driver's side of the bus. The bus damaged the passenger side rear lens cover of the second truck, according to the report.

The report noted "improper passing" by the bus driver, though a citation was not issued. The RCS Transportation Department did not return messages from Patch Wednesday afternoon.

Vandals deface Hugger Elementary doors

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies discovered graffiti on three of 's doors Sunday morning, according to a sheriff's office report. "The graffiti was of a penis, and there were no signs of gang affiliation," the report stated. Deputies checked the building, which was found to be secure; the school's security company was contacted.

Table saws stolen from garage

A resident on Gallagher Street discovered several small table saws and other items missing from his garage Saturday morning after someone cut a keyed lock to the garage's main sliding door, according to a sheriff's office report. There are no suspects at this time.

Residents' identities stolen, used to gain access to bank accounts

An Oakland Township couple discovered Sunday morning someone had used their personal information to gain access to their bank accounts, make fraudulent purchases and request new debit cards. The couple learned of the fraudulent activity after CitiBank contacted them regarding the request for new cards, according to a sheriff's office report.

The unknown individual(s) had been using the couple's account for fraudulent transactions since March 25 and changed the couple's address to one in Highland Park. The accounts have been canceled and fraud alerts placed on the accounts.
