A hunter who reported himself lost in the woods was found in good health Thursday after a search from Oakland County Sheriff's deputies, according to the department.
According to Sheriff's officials, a 67-year-old Sterling Heights man called 911 and told the dispatcher he was tired, had fallen several times and could not walk any further. Deputies arrived to the area of Lake George and Predmore roads in Oakland Township to search the wooded area on foot and were able to locate the man.
The department had called for support from police dogs and helicopters, but canceled the request when the man was found. The man was reported to be in good health aside from scratches on his hands and legs and refused medical treatment.
