With the voter registration deadline approching, we've put together information needed for Lake Orion and Oakland Township voters to register and vote, whether in person or by absentee.

With the Oct. 9 voter registration deadline approching, we’ve put together information needed for Orion area voters to register and vote whether in person or by absentee.

Local Orion Voter Registration Opportunities :

  • In person: Register at the Orion Township Clerk’s Office, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Orion Township Hall, 2525 Joslyn Road.
  • Residents of Oakland Township may register to vote daily, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Oakland Township Clerk's office.
  • Mail-in: Orion Township voter registration forms are available at the Orion Township Library, 825 Joslyn Road, and at the Township Clerk’s Office. Oakland Township registration is also available by mail by completing the application found here. Voters registering by mail must appear in person at a polling place the first time they vote. A mail-in registration form is also available at the Michigan Secretary of State website.
  • You may also register to vote at Secretary of State’s office, including the ones at 2250 Crooks Road in Rochester Hills, and 7090 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston.

Voters who are 18 or older, or who will be 18 by the Nov. 6 election, are eligible to register to vote.

Michigan Law requires that the same address be used for your voter registration and driver’s license. Check your registration status and see your polling location, which has potentially changed since the 2008 presidential election, by contacting their city or township clerk or at www.michigan.gov/vote.
